The guitarist Tabajara Belo, which combines solid classical training and great fluency in popular music, has been working in concerts and recordings with some of the most important names of the music produced in Minas Gerais – Trio Amaranto, Marina Machado, Regina Souza, Paula Santoro, Dea Trancoso, Alda Resende, Celso Adolfo, Chico Lobo, Bob Reis, Vander Lee and Wagner Tiso, among others. He holds a degree in guitar from UFMG, and Master of Guitar by the University of Arizona, USA, where he also worked as a Teacher Assistant. He currently teaches guitar at the Federal University of Ouro Preto.
Tabajara Belo has performed at major festivals and music projects for instrumental music in Minas Gerais and Brazil, such as the Instrumental Festival in Tatuí-SP, “Prata da Casa” Project in SESC Pompéia-SP , Project “Música em pauta” in Curitiba, Winter Festival in Ouro Preto, Winter Festival of São João Del Rei, Sunday Music Project, Music in the Museum Project, Music Party Festival, New Sounds Festival, Independent Music Project, among others.
He has worked as a soloist with the Symphonic Orchestra of Minas Gerais, in album live on the work of composer Tavinho Moura. His debut CD recreates pearls of Brazilian music of yesterday and today. Recently, the musician won the award for Best Instrumentalist of the 2008 edition of BDMG Instrumental, competing with over 40 musicians from all over the state of Minas Gerais.
